done with integrity.
Creative confidence has guided my career at each pivot, seeking in-depth opportunities to imagine new processes and uncover captivating insights.
I oversee integrated campaign strategy and creative concept development with a focus on strong written and visual content. Grounded in research, results have translated into effective earned media, brand activation and community engagement. Clients have ranged from late-stage start-ups to Fortune 500 companies such as IBM, SAP, Bosch, Accenture Applied Intelligence, and Nestle Waters North America, with published ghostwriting in Information Week, Huffington Post, VentureBeat, Inc., and others.
Creative | Writer | Strategic Thinker | Change Cultivator
No matter where my life and career have taken me, a few things have remained constant: my deep curiosity for industries, specialties and crafts outside my own and an insatiable interest in human behavior. Whether substitute teaching, GOTV, learning to code or running point on multifaceted campaigns involving numerous stakeholders, I make it a point to immerse myself in new challenges – and apply observations to future ones, crossing traditional departmental lines for inspiration.
My most recent experiences have helped me own my role as a creative. Working side by side with art directors and architects, I've been able to apply an audience-centric lens to experiential projects while also feeding my left-meets-right brain with research, onsite observational studies and deep expertise of technology trends. Pitching keeps me on my toes and ready to defend each design decision, and content ownership – from deck development to video scripting – keeps my "writer" hat close at hand daily.
One of the most essential aspects of my career to-date has been learning how to think like a journalist: at first, in order to capture their attention to generate client news and then in order to help brands tell their stories in an objective way with human interest in mind. As an avid media follower, I track trends and reporters to stay in-the-know. Whether announcing acquisitions and funding rounds, seeking policy-related OpEds, or developing a brand POV surrounding the Future of Work, I've led teams of media mavens always ready to snag the next headline.
Who doesn't love the way a good story makes you feel? Whether making connections, evoking emotion, or sparking new learning, storytelling is at the heart of what I do. Storytelling through data lends credibility to anecdotes and thought leadership, all rooted in the classic narrative arc and storytelling devices committed to memory during my brief time teaching English.

REFLECTION IS WHAT GIVES EXPERIENCE VALUE
Paraphrased from my favorite quote by Roger Martin in The Opposable Mind,
the point is that I'm always learning – and proud of it.
Let's learn, grow and create together.
Marissa's professionalism and attention to detail are second to none – she's the perfect combination of friendly and sharp. She's my first call whenever we need written deliverables with exceptional thought, and for a project to be taken to the next level.

There is no one more lovely, dedicated,
and talented than Marissa.
On top of being wildly intelligent and a fantastic writer, she genuinely cares for those around her and the projects she works on.
SHE'S A TRUE CLASS ACT AND I CONSIDER MYSELF LUCKY TO WORK WITH HER.

I can give no higher recommendation than I do for Marissa Fellows – as a person, colleague or professional.

MOMENT YOU MEET HER.
